28th August 2006Kouryu Densetsu Villgust OVA 2 is now available for download! \(^_^)/ I'd hoped to have this ready sooner, but I ended up having a bit of anti-fun preparing the raw... I never noticed when I subbed this via genlock (nearly 8 years ago, eek), but the laserdisc has some serious problems. First is the colour, which is washed out and has a different balance to OVA 1. The second, much worse problem, is the way that the frames have been split for interlacing. For those of you who know what the telecine process is, it looks like it has been done twice, grrr! Well, after a few days of tweaking (and coding) various filters I managed to get a half decent result. The animation does suffer from a bit of choppiness where I was unable to fully rescue the frames, but it's quite watchable, phew ^_^; Anyway, here are the links for bittorrent and ed2k. Enjoy ^_^ ba-chan 15th August 2006 After three glorious weeks of melting in the Japanese sun, I'm now back in the UK with a nasty cold, pfft ;_; Unable to travel to work... Bored... Really Bored... Oh, what should I do? I know, I'll take the script updates that Rumi did and create a digisub of the first Kouryu Densetsu Villgust OVA! ^_^ As far as I know this hasn't had a DVD release, so I had to do a capture from the LD, which unfortunately resulted in quite a noisy source. Although I managed to clean it up far more than expected, it still hurt the XviD compression, so apologies for the file size.
